Since 2010, Adiba Ismayilova has been the Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs and Library-Information Services at the Azerbaijan National Library. She holds a Ph.D. in History, specializing in Library Science, Bibliography, and Book Studies.
She has been the idea author and organizer behind various successful projects implemented at the Azerbaijan National Library, such as “Open Library”, “I Read, You Read Too”, “Let’s Preserve Books”, “Virtual Exhibition”, and others.
Adiba Ismayilova is the author of three books on the implementation of innovative and creative practices in national libraries, as well as the book “Shusha in the US and UK Press: 1827–1915”, and 45 scientific articles. In recognition of her contributions to culture and librarianship, she was awarded the honorary title of “Honored Cultural Worker” by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on September 24, 2013.
