We are delighted to announce our next speaker, Laura O’Farrell, from the National Library of Ireland. Her participation brings valuable insights from one of Ireland’s most esteemed cultural institutions, and we look forward to the knowledge and experience she will share with us.
Laura O’Farrell is a book conservator at the National Library of Ireland. She completed her postgraduate conservation training, specializing in Books & Library Materials, at West Dean College (University of Sussex). She has previously worked at The National Archives, Kew as a Conservator for Digitization and Large Scale Operations, Maynooth University and at Trinity College Dublin where she was the Fagel Project Conservator and The Carnegie Project Conservator, specializing in the preparation of medieval manuscripts for digitization.
She has extensive experience in the treatment of bound, flat, paper, and skin material, and is currently preparing the NLI’s extensive collection of Yeats Family Papers for digitization.
