Katarzyna Kołakowska, PhD

Dr. Katarzyna Kołakowska is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Classical Studies at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin. Her scholarly work is dedicated to Greek classical and Hellenistic literature, ancient philosophy—with a particular focus on the Presocratics and Empedocles—Greek religion (notably Orphism), and the Derveni Papyrus.

Since 2009, she has been the organizer of the renowned Colloquia Orphica held at the historic Nieborów Palace. Dr. Kołakowska is also actively involved in papyrology and palaeography, contributing to the Greek Manuscripts in Poland project. From 2018 to 2023, she served as the Director of the University Library at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin, where she led significant initiatives in classical studies and manuscript preservation.
