Meet the Voices Behind the Conference: Our Esteemed Speaker Jędrzej Leśniewski

Jędrzej Leśniewski, PhD

Director of the Library of Wrocław University of Science and Technology, one of the largest technical university libraries in Poland. Member of the IFLA Advisory Committee on Cultural Heritage for the 2023–2025 and 2025–2027 terms, as well as a member of the Scientific Council of the National Library of Poland (2018–2024) and Vice-Chair of the Executive Board of the Conference of Directors of Academic Schools in Poland (2020–2024). Coordinator for data flow in the EWAL Team at WUST, in the KDBASP Working Group for Contacts with OPI, and in the Consortium of the Lower Silesian Digital Library. Leader of numerous digitization projects funded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education; member of editorial boards of professional journals, including Polish Libraries. An expert engaged in European initiatives such as the Unite!Widening project, as well as in national projects of international relevance, including International Visibility (Perspektywy).

Professional interests:

– optimization of library services using modern technologies for access to collections,
– open science in the context of organizational and publishing activities,
– strengthening the visibility of universities based on bibliometric and scientometric data,
– social responsibility of universities and inclusive access to knowledge.

Research interests:

– library management,
– cultural heritage management,
– social responsibility of science,
– optimization of management processes.
