Meet the Voices Behind the Conference: Our Esteemed Speaker Zorica Jakovleska-Spirovska

Zorica Jakovleska-Spirovska holds a degree in biological engineering from the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, Ss Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje. After graduation, she worked as a research associate in the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology at the Macedonian Academy of Arts and Sciences until 1997, when she started working at the National and University Library as a conservator in its Laboratory for Conservation and Restoration. She received her M.A. in 2009 in biological deterioration on paper materials.

Since 2005, she has been department head and was promoted to senior conservator in 2012 and conservator adviser in 2020. She participated in projects under the auspices of UNESCO and TEMPUS III, in ASO Project No 3-11-2007, COST Action D42 “ENVIART” and coordinated the library team in the international project Revitalization of cultural heritage from the Balkans, The Young St. Clement University and TAIEX Expert Mission for education of culture heritage professionals. In 2015 she became the head of the sector Library funds and services, protection of library materials and digitization. She is the author of many articles in international scientific and professional journals.
