Betül Kiminsu received her Bachelor of Architecture degree from Selçuk University and her Master of Science in Architecture from Çukurova University. She began her professional career in 2001 as a conservation architect at the Adana Regional Directorate of Surveying and Monuments under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
Between 2014 and 2023 she held the position of Director at the same institution, where she led the documentation, conservation, and restoration projects of numerous registered cultural properties. From 2020 to 2022, she was appointed as an Architectural Member of the Şanlıurfa Regional Council for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage.
She continued her career at the Directorate-General for Cultural Heritage and Museums, where she held the positions of Head of Department and later Deputy Director-General until January 2025. Since then, she has been serving as the Deputy Director General of the Directorate-General for Libraries and Publications.
Throughout her career, Ms. Kiminsu has been responsible for the design, supervision, and implementation of restoration works, museum planning, and the development of archaeological sites. Her expertise includes architectural conservation, cultural heritage management, and the integration of preservation practices into contemporary public spaces.
